Hiya my friend.
You haven’t heard from me in a minute because I was working 12-14 hour days on the crowdfunder while car-sleeping in 30+ degree heat, then shelter sleeping, and my body ended up saying no to the whole thing.
Unless you’ve experienced it the best I can describe it is it’s like the flu — sans the nausea.
With my last trickles of energy, I travelled back to the UK, put out a video to feed the algorithm gods and finished the first draft of my TEDx talk to bring the 300+ movements to an economy that serves all life mainstream, then made it to my first in-person TEDx meet.
I had already crashed and dropped the crowdfunder promotions and outreach, but after this I crashed even harder, finally safe again in a place that’s familiar, among loved ones and friends.
And rather than working 12-14 hour days I was sleeping at least that much.
My body and brain were just toast.
The burnt black kind. 🫠
Thankfully, I feel so much better today after the rest, so I wanted to reach out and let you know what’s going on with the crowdfunder and rewards.
Crowdfunder Results so Far
The crowdfunder official end date was three days ago on the 5th of August.
We reached about 20% of the goal between emails, helpers in the Whatsapp group boosting on LinkedIn, and one Instagram post.
Almost 300 people contributed! Thank you, each of you are helping us get many steps closer to getting the word out about the fairer economy with practical steps we can start today to really change things.
That deserves a nod in the World History books, and I’ve handwritten each of your names there (see photos below).
Special thank you to Dia, Bee, River, Uno, Antonia, Vignesh, Kev, Lucie, Moazzam, Lia, David, Morgan, and everyone who reached out via email for helping get us this far.
What this means is I currently have a basic needs runway of a few months after the upfront housing costs, a hotel when I’m back until I can get into a place, housing application fees (how are THOSE a thing??), current needs, etc.
Next Steps
Our goal was £50k for both my basic needs for a year as well as production of the media assets we need to take the WEconomy mainstream.
After years of homelessness and never having lived on my own before, I need potential eviction to be a LONG way off so my nervous system can rest enough to do world-changing work.
We are 20% of the way there and will need to regroup to get the other 80% next.
Thankfully, Morgan in the Whatsapp group has a very intelligently designed plan. It will require about 8 people to carry out, so we’ll regroup and start back soon since I was able to extend the crowdfunder past the initial end date.
Now that I have some energy back, I’ll be working hard for the next week to update everyone who’s participated in the crowdfunder so far and prepare for a two-week break from 18th August - 5th September — one that my body didn’t force by shutdown but that’s preparation and the rest I’ll need for the next phase of Connectioning.
Reward Tiers
I had planned to finish my draft of The Power Memo during the crowdfunder, unfortunately I crashed and burned and lost three or four weeks, so it’s delayed.
Writing is the only thing I’ll be working on during my two-week break, so you should expect it to be delayed no later than September, along with Of Course.
I also have some bonuses planned to send out in advance, so please be looking for those emails.
For other tiers, we did not reach the funding goals to be able to do the podcasts or feature docs (yet), so we will follow up on those as things progress!
If you were part of the membership tier, this is something a LOT of time is being dedicated to in the background (Thanks to River at Riverway VA for helping sort our very tangled systems so we will be able to deliver this within a few months!).
We will keep you aprised of the developments!
That’s all for now, just wanted to make sure everyone knew what happened and what’s next.
Xoxo

P.S. Thank you for helping us make world history — and giving the world something to be hopeful for. Here are the 13 pages of the World History book you’ve helped fill so far.

Rave on, ... it be like, 'if music be the food of love, play on' opening lines of Shakespeare's 'Midsummer nights Dream', but for our times 'This is still a dream' everyday crazy
Please do take good care of yourself dear Jessica. Blessed be.
